Although we don't believe in timing the market or panicking over market movements, we do like to keep an eye on big changes -- just in case they're material to our investing thesis.
What: Shares of McEwen Mining (NYSE: MUX ) jumped as much as 12% today after the company released production figures.
So what: In the second quarter, the company produced 35,955 gold equivalent ounces, 30% higher than a year earlier. Both of the company's mines are producing at solid levels, and management thinks it can reach 130,000 gold equivalent ounces this year.
Now what: The strong performance was good, and it didn't hurt that gold itself was up 2.9% today. The low price of gold has hurt miners, so they can use any good news they can get on the pricing front. McEwen hasn't yet posted a profit and, with gold under pressure, I would take a cautious approach to this stock, because even higher production may not make up for falling prices.

It another bad day for teen retail. Late last night, clothing retailer Aeropostale (ARO) reported a bigger-than-expected fiscal second-quarter loss, a 15% drop in same-store sales and unveiled disappointing third-quarter financial forecasts. So it little wonder investors are dropping the stock like last year fashion.
But there more to worry about — namely the cash burn.
Aeropostale’s cash balance fell 40% to$100 millionasmounting operating losses burnedcash. Cowen & Co. analyst John Kernan predicts the company may need to issue debt or draw on a revolving credit facility to fund working capital late in fiscal 2014 unless sales and margin trends improve. But rising interest rates could make it even more difficult for Aeropostale to return to profitability. Kernan writes:
e are slashing our estimates for ARO following disappointing Q2 and weak Q3 guidance. Without a top-line turnaround & improved sell through ARO may not return to profitability before 2015 & may need to tap some type of credit facility. We are lowering our PT to $9 (from $13) and see mounting risks.
At $8.77, Aeropostale’s share pricedropped $2.22 or 20.17% in afternoon market action, having earlier falled to $8.59.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Steve Symington]
Almost two months ago, I singled outTile Shop Holdings (NASDAQ: TTS ) as one ofthree great small-cap stockswith which many investors might not be familiar. After all, the high-end stone and tile specialist still had a market capitalization under $800 million at the time, and only just went public late last year.

One home improvement stores player that insiders are active in here is Tile Shop (TTS), which operates as a specialty retailer of manufactured and natural stone tiles, setting and maintenance materials, and related accessories in the U.S. Insiders are buying this stock into major weakness, since shares are off by 38% so far in 2014.
Tile Shop has a market cap of $573 million and an enterprise value of $652 million. This stock trades at a premium valuation, with a trailing price-to-earnings of 45 and a forward price-to-earnings of 26. Its estimated growth rate for this year is -20.5%, and for next year it's pegged at 35.5%. This is not a cash-rich company, since the total cash position on its balance sheet is $3.53 million and its total debt is $96.15 million.
A director just bought 70,000 shares, or about $683,000 worth of stock, at $9.77 per share.
From a technical perspective, TTS is currently trending below both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, which is bearish. This stock has been uptrending over the last few weeks, with shares moving higher from its low of $9.06 to its recent high of $11.58 a share. During that uptrend, shares of TTS have been consistently making higher lows and higher highs, which is bullish technical price action. That move has now pushed shares of TTS within range of triggering a near-term breakout trade.
If you're bullish on TTS, then I would look for long-biased trades as long as this stock is trending above some near-term support at $10.50 and then once it breaks out above some near-term overhead resistance at $11.58 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above that level with volume that hits near or above its three-month average volume of 688,592 shares. If that breakout materializes soon, then TTS will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $12 to its 50-day moving average of $12.99. Any high-volume move above $12.99 will then gi
