The best thing a human being can do is to help another human being know more. - Charlie Munger
Exelixis (NASDAQ:EXEL) is an extremely promising investment to hold for the long haul. Interestingly, the stock underwent what is seemingly a temporary depreciation, thereby creating an excellent entry point for investors wishing to build shares in this robust grower. On May 10, the shares tumbled over 14% to trade at $18.56 (due to a negative clinical reporting of the minor sales-driver, cobimetinib). As alluded to, cobimetinib is simply icing on the cake. And, our investing thesis on Exelixis resides in the substantial unlocked value in the cabozantinib franchises (which is the major growth driver). In this research, we'll elucidate the data finding on cobimetinib (and to reaffirm our strong conviction in the cabozantinib prospects to warrant Exelixis a long-term holding).
Top 5 Growth Stocks To Own For 2019: Intuitive Surgical Inc.(ISRG)
Advisors' Opinion:- [By Brian Feroldi]
TransEnterix (NYSEMKT:TRXC) recently surprised investors on the upside when it reported its first-quarter results. The company's Senhance surgical system is off to a fast start right out of the gate, and it has attracted a lot of positive attention from the medical community. This just goes to show how much demand is out there for an alternative to Intuitive Surgical's (NASDAQ: ISRG) dominant da Vinci platform.

But there was more upbeat news elsewhere, with No. 3 airline United Continental (NYSE:UAL) beating on earnings and freight rail titan CSX (NASDAQ:CSX) delivering record first-quarter numbers. Also on the rapid growth train: Intuitive Surgical (NASDAQ:ISRG), whose da Vinci systems are selling at an impressive rate. And speaking of sales of tech products, the guys close out the episode by explaining why it's a win-win that Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) and Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) are joining forces to sell smart TVs.

Hudson's Bay's European operations and its off-price division are probably responsible for the majority of the company's recent losses. Still, sales have been plummeting at Lord & Taylor in recent years, as the tired chain has lost market share to other retail formats, as well as stronger department stores like Nordstrom (NYSE:JWN) and even Macy's (NYSE:M). Lord & Taylor is almost certainly contributing to its parent company's ongoing losses.

Wall Street was in a great mood on Thursday, as favorable news on multiple fronts sent the Dow Jones Industrial Average to its first record close in eight months. Major benchmarks were generally up 1% after market participants responded to strong economic data on jobless claims, and rising optimism about the potential for a peaceful solution to the tariff-laden trade environment helped many Dow components disproportionately. However, some companies still had to deal with individual challenges that kept them from joining the rally. Stitch Fix (NASDAQ:SFIX), Nordstrom (NYSE:JWN), and Tilray (NASDAQ:TLRY) were among the worst performers on the day. Here's why they did so poorly.
